Earth Day Clean and Green for Haldimand County was a wonderful success. The weather was perfect! Thank you to everyone who came out to join us and "pitch in" to clean up Caledonia Parks and Trails on Friday April 22.
We planned a simple route for garbage clean up from Tim Hortons along the rail line, then we proceeded towards the lower leg of Chippewa Trail into Burke Estates Park at 221 Orkney Street East along the foot path heading east to McClung Road and to the Avalon Empire new homes area. If you are interested in continuing to help keep our community clean and green take a local walking tour along the trail north to Regional Road # 66 where the rail line heads towards Killman Zoo and along the Chippewa Trail or go south along McClung Road, cross over Highway 54 into Seneca Park & Rotary Riverside Trail just outside Caledonia going towards York. This is a nice walk along the Grand River. The Seneca Park address is 651 Caithness Street East if you require your family to pick up.
We have a few other areas to clean up at other locations such as Caledonia Ramsey Park going towards the Old Mill from the Caledonia Bridge
or Ron Clark Memorial Riverwalk through the park heading towards the Dam. If everyone does a small part and pitches in, our town will stay Clean and Green.
